Mick Harris
After spending more than 25 years playing for Timken, Daventry Town, Ford Sports, Silverstone and Brington, Mick, together with Bill Fountain began the formation of the current Weedon FC Saturday teams in the early 1990’s.
A freak accident on a football club “bonding day” playing paintball games during the Christmas period of 1993, left him in plaster with a torn cartledge in his right knee which effectively ended his Weedon playing career, but began his managerial one ultimately resulting in leading the 1st team to the Division 2 championship and reaching the Area cup final in 1996. He remained a committee member and took over the reins as second team manager ( and occasional player – again !) for a couple of seasons and three times enjoyed the position of chairman to see the club over some difficult periods of time, and is delighted to see the club progressing with its youth development programme.
He is honoured to be one of the first inductees into the Hall of Fame and continues to support the club in any way that he can.
